Up till this point I was blaming Q1, now I feel bad for both Jan and Feb. It wasn't their fault, it was March. March came roaring into my life like 31 Mondays back to back.
Thankfully I can look back now and say that not all three months were a complete waste.
In fact, Q1 was CHALKED full of good things.
* Two words: Puerto Rico. The amount of side-splitting (both sober and drunken) laughing that was had gave me a new found respect for my ab muscles and should have been illegal.
* Pedicures while sipping wine in Georgia? Amazing.
* Touring the Bacardi distillery while completely tanked? Ridiculous.
* Coining the phrase "Humorless Ramon"? Hours of entertainment.
* Eating scrumcious food made by people you love (including the rainbow cake of life)? Delicious.
* Re-bonding with Cat? Proves life can still surprise me.
* Getting a new tattoo? Fulfilling.
* Spending time with Uncle Bill? Wonderful.
* Discovering state-side Bellinis? Perfection.
* Piercing my Tragus? Huge endorphin rush.
* Popping the quarter and getting an unexpected bonus? Awesome.
* Getting Rear-ended by an idiot which then led to a needless pursuit of a new vehicle that fulfills some of my wildest dreams? Brilliant.
* Getting paid for car damages in said accent? Excellent.
* Busting yourself up in said accident which leads to free weekly massages? Fabulous.
* Perfect seats at the Burlesque Alice in Wonderland show? Delightful.
* Planning a trip to the sunshine- to bum around the beach, drink coffee and generally loiter while shopping in surf shops for coveted flip flops? FANtastic.
And these are only the highlights...
Sure, I'm not even going to go into the amount of pain I've been in or the complete emotional and mental breakdowns that weaved themselves in and out of Q1 09's fabric for my life. I won't lie. It was a rocky one. But I'm entering April with a new and improved outlook.
Things will right themselves, I can feel it.
Not all is lost.
I make no apologies and I enjoy being me.
I win at life.
